![]() Film: Baladoor Make: Straight Genre: Sentimental Action Banner: Suresh Productions Cast: Ravi Teja, Anushka, Krishna, Chandramohan, Pradeep Rawath, Subbaraju, Satya Raj, Brahmanandam and others Music: KM Radhakrishnan Producer: Suresh Screenplay, Direction: Uday Shankar Release date: 14th Aug 2008 Rating: 5.5/10 Line: A young man's love for his father's elder brother is tested at all times and a misconception throws him out of the house. How he enables a solution from outside and wins the heart of the family forms the essence. Story: Purushottam (Chandramohan) is the father of a baby Chanti (Ravi Teja) and unfortunately his wife passes away at the time of Chanti's birth. He starts staying with his elder brother Ramakrishna (Krishna) who is a well known businessman and he takes care of them like his own sons. Chanti is attached to Ramakrishna and he loves him more than anything else and is willing to do anything for him. However, trouble is there in the form of Ramakrishna's sons who get into illegal things and also are not of a good nature. They are not too happy with the presence of Chanti around and treat him like a second person. As fate would have it, a misunderstanding takes place and Chanti is chucked out of the home by his own father and while he is out there he chances upon Bhanumati (Anushka). Their introduction eventually converts into love but then Chanti's mission is to ensure that the confusions are cleared and for this he starts operating outside the house but helps Ramakrishna and his family with his brain and brawn. Is he successful in his attempts to win back his family's heart? What happens to his love stream with Bhanumathi? All this forms the rest of the story. Artistes and Technicians: The director has come up with a good plot which is a variety and the presentation aspect was fine while the narration was not too bad. The screenplay was held under the grip with a tight script and they were well supported by some decent camerawork and soulful music. Two songs can be taken home and editing could have been better. The comedy track was not that convincing but then it managed few laughs. Editing was upto the mark and full marks to the costumes department for coming up with good shades. Ravi Teja has come up with an impressive performance and unlike his regular antiques he was more on the calmer and sober mode due to his role. Anushka was a stunning beauty and she has definitely bounced back with a bang. Her seductive beauty was worth a treat for the eyes during the songs. Superstar Krishna was elegant in his role but he should have been careful about the climax fight. Brahmanandam's comedy could have been put to better use. The baddies like Pradeep Rawath, Subbaraju did their bit with perfection and provided enough evil for the story. The others were just about okay. Highlights: Anushka Ravi Teja's different role Different sentiment First Half and Second Half: While the first half is more on the lighter note with its share of comedy, romance, songs and slight sentiment it is the second half which takes a complete turn with full length action and not much space for anything else. The pace is high in the second half. Report: The sentiment angle was something new which was never seen before and also despite the strong masala content in the title, the film is actually more of a family entertainer with sentiment and hero Ravi Teja has come up with a different role. Though this cannot be termed as an outright hit, the presence of the commercial elements and the star appeal will surely work its formula and the makers will make a profitable deal out of this venture. Recommendation: An above average treat, can be watched once. |
