SILICONANDHRA has been promoting various programs reflecting traditional Telugu Literary and Cultural ethos for the past 7 years both in the USA and in various parts of India. Hundreds of young men and women have been celebrating the distinctiveness of Telugu Culture through these programs.
Sri Tallapaka Annamacharya is a saint born 600 years ago in Andhra Pradesh. His life is an epitome of devotion to Lord Venkateswara and he has worshipped the Lord with thousands of keerthans. Siliconandhra has the distinction of celebrating the Birth Anniversary of the hallowed saint every year in a unique way – once across the country and another time, in many countries all over the world on the same day in the same fashion. It has now resolved to celebrate the 601st Birth Anniversary of Sri Annamacharya in a hereto unheard of fashion.
100,000 singers of all ages prominently with representation from the youth shall sing at once in one voice the following Saptagiri Keerthans thereby establishing a Guinness World Record: 1. Bhavamulona, 2. Bramhakadigina Padamu, 3. Enthamatramuna, 4. Podagantimayya, 5. Kondalalo nelakonna, 6. Narayanathe Namo Namo and 7. Muddugare Yashoda.
Officials from the Guinness Book of World Records shall personally witness and authenticate the “Laksha Gala Sankeerthanarchana” to be performed at the Secunderabad Parade Grounds on Sunday, the 10th of May, 2009.
Singers are cordially invited to enthusiastically participate in this sacred effort to bring the glory of Saint Annamacharya on to the world stage. Participants must enroll themselves by paying a Registration Fee of Rs.100/- at the nearest branch of Andhra Bank. Out station participants can avail Railway Concession as mentioned herein.
