What's wrong with girls talking sports?

My son arrived home last night for the Christmas holidays. (Hooray!) We chatted a bit and covered everything from Jake Peavy and Josh Beckett to John McCain and Barak Obama. After the chatter, he looked at me dead in the eye and said, "I hate when girls talk sports." Earlier that morning, a guy from the office smiled when I picked up the newspaper and went directly to the sports section. He said, "That's what I like to see. A girl who goes straight for the sports." Getting my son to explain why he hated girls talking sports was like pulling eye-teeth ... "Because I don’t like it." I don’t know if he was directing his dislike toward me discussing sports (because I thought I had a good grasp of the facts) or perhaps he simply hated discussing sports with other girls (perhaps they aren’t as knowledgeable), but, anyway ... Okay, guys, what's the deal with girls talking sports? Is it a "boys only" club?:celtics::celtics::celtics::celtics::celtics:
